In our current political climate where polarization tends to run all conversations, the gray area where most of us live gets passed over. And when it comes to politics in the blogosphere, encouraging dissenting opinions in intellectual discussion is even rarer. The goal here is to make that the norm.

We can learn and grow when presented with differing viewpoints from our own. Our various life experiences provide us all with unique perspectives on life and everything that’s happening in it. By adding our two cents to the conversation and being receptive to others’, ideally we can all have our own worldviews opened up that much more to the human condition.

Partisanship aside, all are welcome here on this blog. One humble request: respect each other. We’re not going to always see eye to eye – or even understand each other’s politics and opinions necessarily – but the least we can do is not treat one another like enemies simply because we think differently.
